Russell J. Lemmon, 92, of 426 Union Ave., Kittanning, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township. He was born July 27, 1908 in Washington Township to Robert H. and Sally (Bowser) Lemmon. Mr. Lemmon worked for Eljer in Ford City as an inspector for 29 years. A veteran, he served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Lemmon was a Protestant. His memberships included life memberships in the Kittanning Eagles and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kittanning and the American Legion in Cowansville, where he was a charter member. He also enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Pinkerton of Kittanning; two stepsons Daniel Mell of Hampton, Va. And Gary Mell of Tarentum; two stepdaughters, Linda Pavlik of Tarentum and Mildred Cowan of Hampton, Va.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Lemmon of Mesa, Ariz.; and one sister, Eleanor Wertz of Warsaw, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Alice (Claypool) Lemmon, Edna (McCollum) Lemmon, and Mildred (Reesman) Lemmon; a son, Larry Lemmon; a grandson Russell Lemmon; and a stepson, Ralph Mell.
