William Henry Johnson was born to Roy Neal and Emogene Fern(Cutshall)Johnson on March 21,1953 while they lived on the family farm in northern Madison County.
He attended school in Van Meter, then attended Central College in Pella for one year and Iowa State University in Ames for one year.
William worked several route sales jobs in the Des Moines area, built an Amway distributorship,and owned a national video store in West Des Moines. He worked overnight shifts at K-Mart and Kwik Shop and did snowplow work for 13 years. He was also an OTR driver.
William always said "My greatest Joy and greatest growing experience was caring for my Mother for over 8 years after she suffered a severe stroke."
William lived on the family farm in Madison County until 1963 when at 10 years of age, the family moved to Van Meter. In 1975, he bought a house in Ames and Married Jeanne Lee Hibbs. In 1977, they moved to a house in West Des Moines and were divorced in 1985. William moved back to Van Meter in 1989 where he lived until his death.
William was preceeded in death by his parents and an older sister, Janice Elaine Johnson. William had no children and is survived by a sister Beverly Algoe.
A simple graveside service was held on July 23, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery between De Soto and Winterset, Iowa.
