~0bit~Harriet Walton Hoover was born near Lima, Ohio, April 3, 1847, and passed away Wednesday evening, September 2, at her home in Quaqueton. Nearly her entire life has been spent in and around this vicinity. she was united in marriage to James Hoover in 1865, his death occuring 1903. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive her, Mrs. Ella Steele and Mr. Edward Hoover, of this town; Mrs. Emma Copeland, Winthrop, and Mr. Hammond Hoover, of Delia, Kansas. She also leaves ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends, She was a member of the Hoover church for a number of years. She was a faithful wife and mother. For the last months she had been an intense sufferer but bore her affliction patiently, gladly welcoming the summons of her master to whom she had renewed her covenant sometime before her death. Prayers were offered at the home September 4, after which funeral services were conducted at the Hoover church at 2 o'clock by Rev. C. R. Belknap.
