Mises was a major influence on the modern libertarian movement, specifically the Austrian School of Economics. He was one of the most influential economists of the 20th Century. The Ludwig von Mises Institute in Auburn, AL is named after him. His most famous book was his treatise on economics 'Human Action" (1949).
