Delphia Mazie Martin Price, 87, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died peacefully in her home, January 11, 2002, Hyde Park, Utah.

She was born in Vendor, Newton County, Arkansas, December 7, 1914, to Joseph and Lillie Louisa Davis Martin. Delphia married Charles Edwin Price on June 25, 1938 in Eufaula, McIntosh County, Oklahoma. The marriage was solemnized February 28, 1952 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters, and daughter-in-law, Helen Owens. She is survived by her husband, Charles, in the home; four sons, Homer Franklin Owens, Springfield, Utah; Charles William and Carol Ann Price, Layton, Utah; Lynn Wayne and Fran Price, Pocatello, Idaho and Harold Ray and Marcelline Price, Sandy, Utah; and one daughter, Shirley Ann and Charles Nance, Chandler, Arizona; a brother, Argie Martin, LaMirada, California; and sister, Bonnie Martin Foster, Mabank, Texas.

She has 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Included also in the family are Michael and Jean Heikkinen, Hyde Park, Utah.

Delphia and Charles lived in Oklahoma until 1959, moving to Pocatello, Idaho, for seven years, and to Logan and Hyde Park, where they have been residents for thirty-six years.

She has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1941 and served in most auxiliaries of the church. She was a volunteer in the clothing department at the Logan Temple for 15 years.

She worked at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Pocatello, and Sunshine Terrace, Logan. She was loved by all those whom she assisted in their care.

She dearly loved her husband, family, church and community and made great effort to provide loving care to all those she knew. She loved family gatherings, cooking, sewing and making her home a place of refuge for her family. Delphia will be lovingly missed and remembered by all who knew her.

You will be missed so very much, Mom (Silky Cheeks). We will miss your shining smile and twinkling eyes. You brought joy and happiness to all of us.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 16, 2002 in the Hyde Park Ninth Ward Chapel, Main Street, Hyde Park, at 12 noon. There will be a viewing for family and friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation in memory of Delphia Price to a charity of your choice.
