Dale E. Currie, 95, died at the Jameson Care Center in New Castle.
Parents: William Currie and Anna Studebaker Currie.
Wife: Frances Deemer, married for 72 years. She preceded him in death on May 12th, 2005.
He was a lifelong dairy and turkey farmer and very well known for the two books he'd written about McConnell's Mill State Park. He was instrumental in the creation of the McConnell's Mill State Park project. He was a member of the East New Castle Grange, Rural Farm Organizations, and had twice been the Master for the Lawrence Co. Pamona Grange. He also served on the Shenango Area School District School Board for 6 years. He was a lifelong member of the Harmony Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday School, served as a Deacon, and was a Deacon Emeritus.
Relatives: two Sons, William D. Currie of New Castle and Glenn E. Currie of Pittsburgh; two Daughters, Patricia Gallagher of New Castle and Susan Boilard of Wallingford, Connecticut; 9 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Guy, and Harold Currie; and his sisters, Hazel Adams, Daisy Currie, and Allie Currie.
