Sallie Scott Eoff was the daughter of John Eoff, a native of South Carolina, and Martha Jane Higgins. Sallie was the oldest of eight children, her siblings being George Eoff, James Eoff, John Leonard Eoff, Elizabeth Eoff, Minerva Eoff, Fleming Eoff and Louisiana (Eoff) Pearl. Sallie was raised on the family farm in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

Sallie married Isaac Taylor, the son of John and Catherine Taylor, September 14, 1824 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. They were the parents of Pernetta (Taylor) Higgins, John S Taylor, Francis Asberry Taylor, Isaac Taylor, James Frank Taylor, Louisiana (Taylor) Haste, Catherine (Taylor) Quinton and Byrd Taylor. Isaac and Sallie Taylor raised their children in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Isaac Taylor, born in Virignia, was a farmer and surveyor. He died in 1865. Sallie died in 1900 in her ninety-fifth year.
