The community lost on of its beloved persons, in the passing of Miss Cecelia Briel, whose death occurred Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. March 18.
Miss Briel was the daughter of the late J. Samuel and Lucy Briel, and most of her life has been spent in this community.
She was a professional nurse. The story of her noble life is best told in the hearts of those who knew her best. As neighbor, friend and citizen she was generaous, kind and sympatheic. Serene, calm and self-possessed her inspiring personality has enriched and beautified the lives of those who came in contact with her.
She looked for the best in her followmen and her kindly ministrations and solicitude for others will be a cherished memory to all who knew her.
She loved the beautiful things of life and radiated that influence in the lives of others - an appreciation of the beautiful.
Miss Briel is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Austin C. Lynn of Philipsburg, Mrs. Ward Maines of Woodland, Mrs. Maude G. Maines of Woodland. Mrs. Jean Smith of Philadelphia, George S. Briel of Trenton, N.J., Miss Ida Briel and James J. Briel of this place.
Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church at Frenchville Saturday morning in charge of Rev. Father Carrick. Interment was made in the Catholic Church at Frenchville.
