US Congressman. He had a medical practice and engaged in the milling business when appointed a member of the Maryland State House of Delegates in 1895. In 1897, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fifth Congress, serving until 1899. After his term, he resumed the milling business and engaged in agricultural pursuits until his death.
