Clifford George Allen died in a Seattle nursing home Nov. 13, 1982.
He was born in Monroe July 2,1904, to George and Grace (Tallman) Allen, and was a grandson of George Allen of Montrose, Scotland, who settle in the Snohomish Valley in 1860.
Much of his later life was spent working with the Small Tribes Organization of Western Washington and was chairman of the Washington Indians Advisory Committee for Gov. Evans. He traveled extensively, representing the tribes in such organizations as the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians, and the National Congress of American Indians.
He is survived by his widow, Ione; sons, Carl and Thomas; daughter, June Knutson; sisters, Inis Neville and Fae Ramborger of Camano Island, and Lois Woodbridge of Auburn; and brother, Harold Pownall of Camano Island.
Funeral services were held in Auburn, Nov. 18, and burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
Note: Clifford was first married to Pearl Amanda Porter, divorced in 1960. He was preceded in death by daughters, Bonnie Jean Jameyson and Frances Carol Drager.
