DIED: - On Monday, April 22, at 7:30 p. m., Mrs. Merchant, wife of S. H. Merchant of this city. The deceased had been sick only a few days and her death was a surprise to all. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Austin, and was born in Collin county, Texas, in 1867, married in 1886, and came to this country in 1890. She had a great many friends; to know her was to love her. She leaves a husband and three children, Mabel aged 7 years, Harry 4, and Hugh 2 and a number of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services occurred at the cemetery Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. S.H. McElvain.
