A.C. Baca was a sheep herder or rancher who lived northwest of Quemado, New Mexico, on the Salt Lake road. There is the remains of a little two room rock house where he lived. His grave is out from the front of the dwelling. We could not find how he died, who buried him or who carved his name in the stone. Years ago, there were lots of sheep raised in west central New Mexico and there are many remains of old houses and sheep corrals.
