Lifelong Alaskan Thad R. Hadfield, 25, died Oct. 14 at Providence Hospital. A funeral was held at Kehl's Forest Lawn Chapel with Curtis Nestiguard of Harvester Christ Church officiating. Burial was at Anchorage Memorial Park.
Mr. Hadfield was born Jan. 8, 1967, in Dillingham. He attended school in Anchorage and Gig Harbor, graduating from high school in Gig Harbor. He fished commercially in Bristol Bay with his grandfather. Mr. Hadfield enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working on cars. According to his family, he was a good worker and could fix anything mechanical.
Mr. Hadfield is survived by his father, Steve of Gig Harbor; his mother, Evelyn of Anchorage; his sister, Sher of Peters Creek; his brother, Steven of Anchorage; his stepsister, Kristen of Gig Harbor; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Polly Nekeferoff of Peters Creek; his aunts, Christine Nekeferoff of Anchorage, Marty Nekeferoff of Peters Creek, Patricia Brackenbush of Naknek, Nancy Hadfield of Coldwater, Mich., Carol Hadfield of Naknek, and Janice Bragg of Eugene, Ore.; his uncles, Raymond Nekeferoff Jr. of Peters Creek, Gary of Naknek, Ted of Coldwater, and Harold Kalbe of Anchorage; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Bean's Cafe, 1101 E. Third Ave., Anchorage 99501.
