Services for Victor J. Hiebsch, 90, Winchester, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Winchester-Wise Cemetery.

Mr. Hiebsch died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Jefferson County Geriatrics Center, Winchester.

He was born Aug. 15, 1907, at Shannon, the son of John and Nettie Carson Hiebsch. He had lived in Winchester since 1936.

Mr. Hiebsch was owner and manager of Winchester L.P. Gas Company from 1950 until the business was sold in 1974.

He was a member of Winchester United Methodist Church, Jefferson Masonic Lodge No. 84 A.F. & A.M. He was a founding member of the Winchester Lions Club and founder and longtime manager of the Winchester Sportsmans Club. He served several terms as Winchester city councilman and served as mayor.

He married Dorothy S. Trower on Dec. 4, 1934, in Atchison. She died Jan. 31, 1994.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Ray, Kalamazoo, Mich; a daughter, Lavonne Leu, Topeka; a brother, Gene, Topeka; four sisters, Bertha Wiley, Mary Edmonds and Mildred Robertson, all of Winchester, and Lola Ross, Perry; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
