Courtney Michelle Ulibarri, 20, a resident of Barstow for four years, died Thursday, April 3, 2003 in Loma Linda. Born Dec. 8, 1982 in Loma Linda, she was a hostess for Denny's Restaurant in Lenwood for one year. She also worked as a sales associate for two years in Barstow and Carlsbad. She attended Silver Valley High School, Yermo in 2001. She enjoyed sports and video games. Survivors include her father, Thomas Ulibarri of Barstow; mother, Deborah Whiting of San Marcos, sister, Tawney Ulibarri of San Marcos; brother, Nick Ulibarri of Barstow; step-mother, Debbie Ulibarri of Barstow; step-sister, Genny Avery of Barstow; fiance, Brandon Gates of Barstow; maternal grandparents, John and Arlene Reeck of Barstow; and paternal grandmother, Lola Ulibarri of Barstow. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Abel Ulibarri.
