Alicia Trinidad Romero Glover died at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, Hampton, VA after a brief illness. She was born in Legaspi City, Republic of the Philippines and relocated to the United States where she attended E.E. Smith High School, Fayetteville, N.C., and later Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA.
Alicia spent her early adult life as a military spouse. Her travels took her to Japan, Korea, Europe, and various parts of the United States. While in Japan, she immersed herself in the Arts, earning degrees in Ikebana (Japanese Style flower arranging) and traditional Japanese dance, receiving accolades in both. While in Europe, she devoted countless hours to activities supporting the military community in Heidelberg, Germany, and continued to lend support to the local communities throughout the family's postings.
After settling in Hampton, VA, she pursued her love for flowers with several local florists and later helped her husband William obtain, build and operate a successful Service Master franchise. She was also a devoted member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Her special loves were playing the organ, cooking, gardening, flower arranging, and her grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, 414 Buckroe Ave., Hampton, VA.
An Omega Omega Service for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was held at 6 p.m.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the staff of the Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 W. Queen St, Hampton, VA.
