Remember me by day.
Remember me by night.
And don't forget to write."
Uncle Tom is Thomas P. Gilliam; Nancy is the writer's daughter and her husband is Mr. Buckelew; the Potawatmia Nation refers to the Pottawatomie Indian Nation, and Shawnee, Oklahoma, now lies within Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.

Homemade marker is very hard to read. It appears to give her death year as 1882, but since she wrote this letter in 1890, that would not be correct. Year 1882 has been removed from this memorial until further info is obtained.
