Richard was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 8th Airforce in which he served as a flight engineer top turret gunner. He flew a B17 bomber on numerous dangerous missions over the heart of Germany. He retired from Bell of PA, where he worked for 40 years as a service technician, which he always said was the most fascinating job he ever had. He loved all kinds of music and beautiful things and was a collector of many precious objects such as including gemstones and shells. He had an appreciation for artwork and was an avid gardener who loved to plant flowers, shrubs and trees. He received the Upper Merion Township Beautification Award in 1975. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia of 57 years, eldest son Rich (Carol), daughter Linda, and sons Albert (Rose) and Jim, grandson Jason, granddaughter Sophia, a brother John Kashishian, brother-in-law F. James Mukhalian, and many cousins.
