| Birth: | Dec. 12, 1880 | | Death: | Dec. 7, 1969 |  B.F. Thompson, Sligo Man, Dies at Age 88 -- KNOX -- Benjamin F. Thompson, 88, of Sligo died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday in Oil City Hospital after a short illness. Born December 12, 1880, at Mount Zion, Licking Township, he was the son of Frances and Rebecca Best Thompson. On June 2, 1904, he married the former Eva Rowe who preceded him in death on March 20, 1968. He was a member of the Church of God and lived his entire life in the Mount Zion area where he farmed the Thompson homestead. In 1925, he moved to Franklin where he worked as a general contractor and builder. He constructed a number of homes in the Butler Pike area. Mr. Thompson moved to Northeast in 1952 where he resided until June 1965. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Homer (Gladys) Myers of Sligo, with whom he made his home; two sons, Paul R. Thompson of Northeast and Theodore Thompson of Bellville, Ohio; 11 granddaughters, two grandsons, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers and one great-grandson. Removal was made to the William N. Rupert Funeral Home, Knox, where friends will be received after 7 p.m. today and where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Ralph Radaker, pastor of the Church of God of Greenville, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.12/8/1969 Oil City Derrick
