"Dollie" Thompson, 93, formerly of Knox RD, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, in Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville. Born Dec. 29, 1911, in Sligo, she was the daughter of Burton and Minnie Myers Brinker. In her earlier years, Mrs. Thompson worked for a number of years in the office of Dr. Charles Huston in Knox. Mrs. Thompson was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Knox RD, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years and was Sunday school superintendent in the children's department for several years. She also was a member of the W.E.L.C. of the church. She was a member of the Wentlings Corners Community Club. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and enjoyed her garden and her flowers. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren, her family and her friends. She was married Sept. 23, 1932, to J. Clair Thompson, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Budd and Florence Thompon of Knox RD and Larry Max and Roseane Thompson of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Kathy Kapp, Lisa Weeter and husband, Thomas, and Kenneth Thompson, all of Knox RD, and Dale Thompson and wife, Debra, of Emlenton; five stepgrandchildren, Cyndi Lynch, Douglas Buchanan, Chris Buchanan, LeAnn Hunt and Charles Buchanan; five great-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Faye Hawk of Poland, Ohio; a brother, Ivan Brinker of Cabot; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by two infant sons; a sister, Romaine Sloan; and four brothers, Ray Brinker, Paul Brinker, Jay Brinker and Carl Brinker. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Deborah Jacobson of Clarion officiating. Interment will be in the Church Hill Cemetery in Sligo.
