US Congressman. A successful agricultural developer, he served as president of the Millstadt Board of Education and on the Illinois, St. Clair County Board of Supervisors, 1892 to 1917. In 1913, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-third Congress, serving until 1915. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed agricultural and industrial pursuits until his death.
