| Birth: | Dec. 10, 1893 | | Death: | Nov. 21, 1938 |  James Wilber Over, well known New Bethlehem merchant for a number of years, died suddenly in his place of business Monday morning, November 21, 1938 at about 10 o'clock, aged 44 years. The cause of death was angina pectoris. He had been a sufferer from a heart ailment for some years past. A customer who entered the store got no response when he called for the proprietor, and looking around, saw Mr. Over lying on the floor. Summoning help, Mr. Over was found breathing his last. The son of Alexander and (Sarah Reese) Over, he was born in Licking township, Clarion county, December 10, 1893. He first came to New Bethlehem more than 25 years ago when be became associated with his cousin, Walter Nale, now of Clarion, in the soft drink business, at that time having purchased the bottling plant of H. E. Luhring of this place. The partners continued in the bottling business for some years when they disposed of their interests, and later Mr. Over became owner and proprietor of Over's Confectionary, a small store in Broad street. He resided in an apartment in Hepler's Drug Store building, Broad Street. He was never married and is survived by several cousins, but no immediate relatives. He was a member of the Reformed church at Mt. Zion, near Sligo, and also of the L.O.O.M. of this place. Funeral services are being held this (Wednesday) afternoon from the Mateer Funeral Home in Lafayette street, conducted by Rev. Roy R. Decker, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this place. Interment will be made in the Mt. Zion cemetery, Licking township. Taken from the Leader Vindicator, November 23, 1938.
