MRS. JULIA CARTER DIES AT EDINBURG
Had Been Resident of Community for Sixty Years -- Funeral Thursday

EDINBURG, March 10 -- Mrs. Julia Carter, 82 years old, passed away at her home, on South Keeley Street, Tuesday morning, at 5 o'clock, following an illness of one week.

Mrs. Carter had been a resident of Edinburg the past sixty years, coming here from Bartholomew County, where she was born. She was a daughter of Adam and Ann Stillabower, who were born in Germany, coming to the United States early in life.

She was married to John Hamblen and to them was born one son, Edward Hamblen, of Edinburg. Later in life she was married to George Carter, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Edward Hamblen.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church by Rev. J. W. Baldwin. Burial will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery.
