Frank Hiatt was born April 14, 1855, in Davenport, Iowa, and died September 21, 1917, age 62 years. In 1881 he was united in marriage to Rachel Captman of Wyaconda, Missouri, to which union four children were born, two of whom died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his death, a wife Rachel Hiatt, of Sayre, a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Land of Leedey, a son, Gus E., of Sayre, four brothers, Elto of Tiffany, Colo., Sherman of Van Buren, Ark., and John and Grant of Hammon, and a sister, Mrs. Eva Conley of Hammon, besides a host of friends.

He was buried in the Doxey cemetery near Sayre, Rev. Blutcher conducting the funeral services. May God's richest blessings rest with the bereaved ones. Mr. Hiatt was formerly a resident of this community, living southwest of town. He was sick several months, and about a month ago, Grant Hiatt and family and Mr. Conley and wife took him to the Rockies with the hope of improving his health, but without avail. He gradually grew worse until his death. Grant Hiatt and family and Mr. Conley and wife attended the burial services.
(from Wyaconda News)
Mr. Frank Hiatt died at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma, September 22, last, after two and a half years illness. During the latter part of his illness he suffered greatly.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Land, one son, Mr. Gus Hiatt, a granddaughter, one sister and four brothers.
Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Hiatt, who formerly lived about one mile east of this city. He was born in Davenport, Iowa, April 14, 1855 and married Miss Rachel Chapman, July 3, 1881. For many years he lived in and near this city but has made Oklahoma his home for the past 15 or 20 years.
His bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of his many friends in this vicinity.
