The funeral for Bruce O. Aase will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hanson Funeral Home in Kenyon. Interment with full military honors will be in Kenyon Cemetery.

Mr. Aase, 58, of Kenyon, died Tuesday (Feb. 19, 2008) at the Northfield (Minn.) Hospital.

Bruce Otis Aase was born March 8, 1949, in Faribault, Minn. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1967. He served in the Army, receiving an honorable discharge after serving in Vietnam. In 1978 he married Jennifer Mund. The couple was later divorced. Mr. Aase owned and operated Aase Plumbing and Heating in Blooming Prairie, was employed by the city of Kenyon for many years, and later worked at Malt-O-Meal in Northfield, Minn., for 15 years. He enjoyed watching old movies, especially John Wayne, fixing old things, teasing people and cooking, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include five children, Elise (Barry) Boehland of Lonsdale, Minn., Taia Aase and Trevor Aase, both of Janesville, Minn., Tara Aase of Bellechester, and Scott Aase; two grandchildren; and his mother, Evelyn Aase of Kenyon. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis; and a sister, Audrey Bealka.

Visitation will be an hour before the service at Hanson Funeral Home.
