Dorothy Jean Williamson, 77, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in Athens, Texas.
Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Blevins, Ark. She married Jesse I. Williamson in Blevins, Ark., on May 20, 1948, the night she graduated from high school. That night they left Arkansas for the oilfields of Odessa.
The family lived in Grapevine 45 years while Mom took an active part in the Women's Auxiliary of the Grapevine Volunteer Fire Department. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Grapevine. She was known for her baking skills. Many families waited anxiously for her homemade breads and pies.
She was a true and humble servant not only to the Lord but also to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Gladys Bolt.
Survivors: Leaving her husband of 58 years, Jesse I. Williamson; sons, Jim Williamson and fiancee, Vickie Burkhart of Athens, John Williamson and wife, Connie of Southlake; grandson, Blake Williamson of Athens; granddaughter, JoAnna Hodge and husband, Darren of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Billy Bolt and wife, Gena Lou of Texarkana; and several nieces and nephews.
