Mrs. Lucille Young Scarbrough died Sunday, Sep. 28, 1969 at the Doctor's Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was 54. She had been ill for only a short time.
Mrs. Scarbrough was the wife of T. W. Scarbrough of Calhoun City. She had been employed at Kellwood Co. in Calhoun City for 22 years. She and her husband had resided in Calhoun City for 23 years.
Born in Webster County on July 18, 1915, she was the daughter of D. G. Young and Della Hellums Young, both natives of Webster County. She was a Baptist.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Thomas F. Scarbrough, band director at East Mississippi Junior College at Scooba; a daughter, Mrs. Billie Powell of Eupora; a sister, Mrs. James Robert Stuaddy of Eupora; a brother, Frank Young of Truman, AR; her mother, Mrs. Della Young of Eupora and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City Tuesday morning. Rev. George C. Lee officiated. Interment was in Oak Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bayne Cobb, Edd Johnson, Joe Hicks, Raif Goodson, James Spivey and Sam Jones.
