Elizabeth Dawn "Beth" DeSouza, 51, of Parkersburg, passed away Feb. 14, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 20, 1956, in Livonia, Mich., a daughter of the late James and Doris Knotts DeSouza.

Beth and her fiance, Bob, are owners of Smart Tree Services in Parkersburg. She held many other jobs during her lifetime including campaign worker, radio disc jockey, travel agent and business owner, but she leaves behind her greatest accomplishment, her daughter, Briana DeSouza of Parkersburg. She was a very caring, giving and loving person and will be missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her fiance, Charles "Bob" Smart, of Parkersburg; two uncles, Gene Knotts and Leland (Nelva) Knotts; two aunts, Barbara Knotts and Mamie Knotts; and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two aunts, Sarah Shumway and Helen Archer; two uncles, Stanton Knotts and Paul Knotts; and grandparents, Simon and Ethel Knotts and Everard and Dolly DeSouza.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor George Gaston officiating. Interment will follow at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
