Mrs. E. H. Powell Claimed by Death:
Mrs. Minnie Powell, wife of Edward H. Powell, of West Lafayette, died at 9:10 o'clock Friday morning at St. Elizabeth hsopital after a brief illness with a complication of diseases. She had been in the hospital since last Saturday.
Mrs. Powell was born in this city on October 20, 1868 and was the daughter of William and Amelia Applebach. All of her life with the exception of four years was spent in the city and West Side. She was united in marriage to Mr. Powell on June 4, 1895. The husband and one daughter, Miss Helen E. Powell, survive. She is also survived by her father, William Applebach and a brother, Charles B. Applebach, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Mrs. Powell was a member of the Baptist church and was a true Christian woman. She was a devoted wife and mother and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends.
The body was taken to the family home, 244 Harrison street, West Lafayette.
