Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday for Andy B. Ricks, 61, who died at his home at 1124 South Third at 9:15 Saturday morning after an extended illness. Rev. Bill Gray officiated in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Home. Mr. Ricks was born April 9, 1894 in Baldwin County, Mississippi and moved to Oklahoma in 1902 settling in Grady county Indian Territory. He opened a grocery store at Naples. In 1926 he moved to Chickasha and opened a cafe, He had operated several cafes in Chickasha. Survivors include his wife, Eliza; two sons, Leslie B. of Houston, Texas and Elver Lee of Fresno, Calif; four daughters, Mrs. W. H. Busby, 301 North 16th, Mrs. W. E. Skaggs and Mrs. Zelma Cousins of Fresno and Mrs. W. E. Miller of Long Beach, Calif; one step daughter, Mrs. Neva Beabout of Houston, Texas; one brother, O. C. Ricks of Chickasha; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Mayes of Chickasha and Mrs. Sam Helvey of Elmore City; 15 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of the Brown Funeral Home.
