Mrs. Kjersten Hansen passed away at her home in Dexterville, Wednesday, May 4th at the ripe old age of 92 years, 10 months and 4 days.

Deceased was born in Denmark where she was reared to womanhood and where she was married. Her family of eight children, six daughters and two sons were also born in Denmark, she, with her husband, coming to this county when her youngest child was past two years old.

After coming to American the family lived on a farm for a number of years, the husband passing away thirty-three years ago. Those left to mourn the departing of the mother are Mrs. Sena Jensen of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. P. M. Petersen, Del Ray, California; Mrs. Christina Olsen, Lead, S. D.; Mrs. Jennie Gilmore, Sherwood, Oregon; Chris Madsen of Blair, with whom she made her home; Henry Hansen, Toronto, Canada; Mrs. Mary Nelson, Sherwood, Oregon and Mrs. J. S. Johnson, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mrs. Hansen was a woman of devout Christian character and during her life in Blair has endeared herself to all those who knew her and in spite of her advanced age her cheerful disposition was always commented on by her friends.

The daughter, Mrs. Christina Olsen of Lead, South Dakota, had been with her during her illness which lasted about four weeks and Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Johnson of Minneapolis arrived in time for the funeral. These with the son, Chris were the only ones of the widely scattered family who were able to attend the funeral services which were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Bendorf funeral home and at 2 p.m. from the First Lutheran Church with Rev. James Lund officiating. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
