Alvin Pappan
Newkirk, Okla. - Alvin (Wad) Pappan, 69, died Monday afternoon at the Ponca City hospital.
He was born March 3, 1901, in Kansas to Murph and Effie Pappan. He married Daisy Kirkbride on June 27, 1922, at Newkirk, and they made their home on a farm east of Newkirk for many years. He had lived in Kay County most all of his life.
Survivors include his widow of the home, three sons, James D., of the home, Walter of Newkirk, and Bruce of Billings, Mont., one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Maxine) Cravins of Newkirk, five brothers, Walter of Oxford, Gordon, Wasco, Bill and Clyde, all of Wichita, four sisters, Mrs. Marie Jayne, Mrs. Dorcas Tate, and Mrs. Myrtle Williams, all of Wichita, and Mrs. Odie Henderson of Pawhuska, Okla., 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian church with Rev. Wayne Sigler officiating. Burial will be in the Newkirk cemetery under the direction of the Stahl Funeral Service.
