Presidential Cabinet Secretary. He was a New York bond attorney and law partner of Richard Nixon in the 60s. He served as chairman of Nixon's successful presidential campaign in 1968 and was appointed Attorney General in 1969. He left the office in 1972 to help run Nixon's reelection campaign, and was subsequently implicated in the Watergate scandal.
