MELVIN LEE OGLE
Melvin Lee Ogle, 82, 406 South Fifth, died Friday morning in Grady Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
He was born Jan 7, 1886 at Yukon. He moved to Grady County, Indian Territory, as a child prior to 1900. He had farmed most of his life in the Amber and Tabler communities. He moved to Chickasha in 1944 and had resided at Long Beach, Calif for eight years. He was married to Miss Effie Lillie Hurd, July 13, 1912 at Lumberton, N. M. Mr. Ogle was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Effie of the home; six sons, Lewis and Bill of Long Beach, Calif; John of Santa Ana, Calif., Terry of Lakewood, Calif., Gale of Eureka, Calif., and Leon of Chickasha; three daughters, Mrs. Della Pearl of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Parrish of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Clara June Smart of Lakewood, Calif., 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home with Jim Sheerer, pastor of the Central Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
