James Hanibal Wilson, born in Shade, Athens, Ohio July 20, 1833 and died in Rogers, Arkansas on December 6, 1918 at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 16 days. He enlisted in the Civil War at the age of 28 and served from 1861 to 1865 in Company "I" 6th Inf Reg Ohio (Union). At the close of the war returned to Lowell, Nebraska where he entered the blacksmith business. Leaving there owing to the ill health of his wife, he came to Rogers October 15, 1890. After his first wife's death he married in 1878 Caroline Newell. This was her second marriage. To this union was born six children, four of whom, with his widow, survive him. The 1910 census shows that Caroline was the mother of 8 children with 2 living.

James Leslie Wilson, Rogers
Perry A. and Will A. Wilson of Elk, Washington; and Mrs. Ida Scheildig of Denver, Colorado;
and one sister, Mrs Lucinda Cramer of Shade, Ohio. Funeral services were held in Bryant's Chapel by Rev. J.D. Bowles, pastor of the Christian Church. Burial was in Rogers City Cemetery.
