William Bush died at his home in Smithfield Monday morning at 5:50, June 21, 1920. He had been afflicted with rheumatism since 1898, but was able to continue his work until 1904. Sinc that time he has not been able to work and later other complications set in, forcing him to take his bed five weeks ago, where he remained until death.
Mr. Bush was the son of Augustus and Anna Kathryn Rudolph Bush, and was born in Juniata township, January 30, 1859, and at the time of his death was aged 61 years, four months and 21 days. He was born and raised on a farm and followed the occupation of a farmer until forced to retire on account of ill health.
He was united in marriage to Miss Ada M. Yocum, a daughter of John and Hannah Yocum, of Walker township, on November 13, 1884. They spent their entire married life in Juniata , Porter and Smithfield townships.
He was well known and a highly respected citizen, who bore his long suffering patiently; a kind and affectionate husband, a member of the Reformed church.
He is survived by his wife and six daughters,--Carrie, wife of Kenzie Bagshaw, Alda, wife of Clari Dell, both of Blair county; Katie, wife of Oscar Brenneman, of Porter township; Maude, wife of Lewis Thompson, of Smithfield; Edith, wife of William Henney, and Miss Mary Bush, both at home. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters,--Valentine Bush, of Grafton; Silas Bush, of Juniata township; John and Rudolph Bush, both of Walker township; Christ Bush and Jennie, wife of A.M. Kelly, both of Huntingdon; Lizzie, wife of Lincoln David, of Brady township; Mary, wife of John Heffner, of Kingsley, Iowa.
Funeral services were held from his late residence in Smithfield on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, services conducted by the Rev. D.E. Master, of Huntingdon, assisted by Rev. C.W. Levan, of Alexandria. Interment was made in the Acker cemetery, Juniata township.
