Sophia Joy was daughter of John and Elizbeth C. Smith Joy. She married John Selvey (Selby) Brian 12-24-1829 in Harriosn Co., OH. John joining the 58th OH CO "K" and died at Pittsburg Landing, TN. She recieved $12.00 a month wiodow's pension. Their children were Margaret, Susannah Jane, Mary Elizabeth, James Crawford, Thomas Decker, David Cunningham, Sarah Rebecca, Bazel Ridgeway and Isaac Wesley Brian.
