The Rev. Robert H. Delgado, 82, of Beaver Falls, formerly of Racine, Wis., died Wednesday February 6, 2008, following a brief illness.
After graduation from an early acceptance program at the University of Chicago, he worked for Nuclear Chicago. He came to the Pittsburgh area in the 1950s to work for Westinghouse, developing the instrumentation for the first nuclear power plant at Shippingport. As a layman, he was active in IEEE and the Pittsburgh Experiment.
Following study at Seabury Western Theological Seminary, he was ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. His first parishes were Christ Church, New Brighton, and St. Mary's, Beaver Falls. During his 16 years in the Beaver Valley, Father Bob was known for his healing ministry as well as his innovative work with youth, opening the church's gym to neighborhood basketball and the Sign of the Fish Coffee House. He also had a radio callin show on WBVP for many years.
Accepting a call to St. Stephen's, Racine, Wis. in 1980, he served the parish there for 16 years before retiring to California with his wife, Jeanne, to live near their daughter, Liz.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne D. Delgado, who passed into glory on July 6, 1998.
He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth J. Delgado, Pittsburgh, and daughter, Susan C. Delgado-Park and son-in-law The Very Rev. Cn. John H. Park of Lima, Peru, and grandsons, Robert John Enrique Park and James David Miguel ParkDelgado of Pittsburgh.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls. A service of prayers will be held at the funeral home that evening at 8:30 pm. The Rev. Dr. Lang Pegram, of Christ Episcopal Church in New Brighton, will officiate.
Interment will be in California beside his wife.

The Rev. Robert H. Delgado, 82, Beaver Falls, PA, formerly of Monrovia, died Wednesday February 6, 2008 following a brief illness. Fr Bob and his wife Jeanne retired to Monrovia following an active ministry of 32 years in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. During his time here, he served part-time at Church of the Transfiguration, Arcadia and Church of the Ascension, Sierra Madre. Fr. Bob was known for his healing ministry. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne D. Delgadoin 1998. He is survived by daughter Elizabeth J. Delgado, Pittsburgh: and daughter Susan C Delgado-Park and son-in-law The Very Rev. Cn. John H Park of Lima, Peru; and grandsons, Robert John Enrique Park and James David Miguel Park-Delgado of Pittsburgh. The service of Christian burial will be Monday, February 18th at 11:00 am at Church of the Ascension, Sierra Madre. Friends will be received at the church following internment in Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in his memory to the South American Missionary Society, PO Box 399, Ambridge, PA or the Alzheimer's Association.
