Excerpt from "History of Greene County, Ohio: its people, industries and ...", Volume 1, Michael A. Broadstone, pg. 244:

"One of Captain [Nathan] Lamme's sons was David Lamme who was only six years of age when he came with his father to Greene County.

He [David] became a soldier in the War of 1812 serving first as a volunteer under Capt Robert McClelland. He fought under Capt. Ammi Maltbie, Later he joined General Harrison whom he followed throughout the war. Because of his gallantry at the battle of Lundy's Lane he was promoted to the rank of captain."
