Don W. Field 1935 ~ 2008
Don W. Field, best friend to many, will be dearly missed by family and friends. Don passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on January 09, 2008. Don lived life to its fullest. He was born in Provo UT, Dec. 2, 1935, to Willis E. "Red" and Opal Schaerrer Field. Don graduated from Provo High School in 1954, where he excelled in football, and later attended BYU. Don was previously married to Jo Ann Givan for 22 years. Don owned and operated Field Welding and Supply for over 50 years. He was an Eagle Scout, member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, a member of Rotary, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of Riverside Country Club served on the board for many years. Don also served his country as a Sergeant of the 145th field artillery unit in the National Guard. Don leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Pamela Firmage Field; two children, Mikell Field (Heather) and Michelle Field; three stepchildren, Michael Lindley, Bill Lindley, and Tamarie Givan (Kevin); 12 grandchildren who affectionately called him "Pops"; and five brothers and sisters, Nevagene Ashton (Ken), Sharlene Davenport (Ed), Victor Field (Sandy), Larry Field (Marcia), Garry Field (Sue). He enjoyed many years with his family and friends on his boat at Lake Powell, and his house in St. George. In his days, he was an avid snow skier, water skier, enjoyed hiking, biking, wind surfing, and SCUBA diving. He was a fabulous host to many family and friends. Funeral services will be held Mon. January 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 N. Orem, where friends and family may call Sun. evening from 6-8 p.m. and Mon. from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be held in the Provo City Cemetery.
