She married first on 29 Oct 1919 in Alachua County, Florida James Turner Jones, Sr.
James and Dorcas had three children James Turner Jr., Sarah, and Rosetta Jones.
Dorcas married second after 1936 Dr. W. A. Carver
Dorcas and Dr. W. A. Carver had one daughter Elizabeth.

"Mrs. Carver, 54, dies suddenly; rites tomorrow"
"Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Mrs. Dorcas Elizabeth Carver 54, of 603 SW 12th St., visual instruction teacher at Gainesville High School, who died
yesterday afternoon at her residence after a heart attack.
Last rites will be administered at 3 p.m., at the Pine Grove Baptist Church near Trenton by the Rev. Custis Fletcher, paster of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.
The DeWitt C. Jones funeral home will have charge of arrangements. The body will not be displayed in accordance with the deceased's request.
Pallbearers will be Drs. E. S. Horner, Alvin T. Wallace, John R. Edwardson, I. M. Wofford, E. O. Burt and H. C. Harris and Fred Clark. They are requested to meet at 2:45 p.m. at the church.
Born in Trenton, She was the daughter of the late Jack Brown and Rosetta I. (McKinney) Brown of Tampa. A University of Florida graduate, she
received her master's degree in 1938.
She moved here in 1936. Mrs. Carver also was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and Florida Education Association.
Survivors also include her husband Dr. W. A. Carver of the US Agriculture Experiment Station; three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Frasier, Jacksonville; Mrs. G. E. Tully, Rio De Janero, Brasil; and Miss Elizabeth Carver, Gainesville.
Also, one son, Jimmie Jones, Tampa; a brother, J. D. Brown, Tampa; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Brown, Mrs. Clayton Pierce, Tampa; Mrs. Cloud C. Hague, Jacksonville; Mrs. Bennie Harrison, Bushnell; and Mrs. Mark Read, Trenton."
