SAN ANTONIO - Funeral services for Marilyn Anderson Dietz, 73, of Kerrville, Texas, will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Buran Phillips at First Presbyterian Church, Kerrville, at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004, with interment in Glen Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville.

Marilyn, who passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004, in San Antonio, Texas, was born in Corpus Christi, Jan. 31, 1931, to Niels and Edna Anderson. She graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas in 1952, with a bachelor of science degree in home economics. She was a retired public school teacher, having taught in Corpus Christi, Bay City and Katy, Texas.

In 1954, she married John M. Dietz and traveled with him to live in several places in the United States, where she made many friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Andrew, and is survived by her husband, John M. Dietz, of Kerrville; son, John McNiel Dietz; daughter- in-law, Carla Dietz; and grandchildren, Breanna, Sarah and Andrew, all of Bothell, Wash. She also is survived her brother, Edmund Anderson, his wife, Gail, and their children, Julie and Niels.

Pallbearers will be six of her nephews, Henry, Bruce, Bob, Jay and Mark Dietz and Niels Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ellis, Charles Geron, Willard Amann and Dr. Robert Carpenter.

Marilyn was a very beautiful, thoughtful, kind and loving person and mother. She has touched the lives of many people. She helped a great number of young people and lived her life with grace and dignity. She was truly a God created "Class Act," and will be missed by many.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity organization of choice.
