Pierre Roche
Birth: Mar. 27, 1919
Death: Jan. 28, 2001

Singer, Pianist, Songwriter. A native of Beauvais, France, Roche began his music career as a pianist in the 1940's. In 1942 he met a young singer named Charles Aznavour and the two formed a successful duo as performers and songwriters. In 1948, the duo left France and went to Montreal, Quebec where they joined the cabaret Faison Doré. While in Montreal, Roche met a young singer names Jocelyne Deslongchamps, better known as Aglaé, and the couple were soon married. In 1950, the duo of Roche and Aznavour went their separate ways. While together, Roche and Aznavour are remembered for songs such as "Départ Express," "En revenant de Québec," Tant de monnaire," and "Les Filler de Trois-Rivières." After returning to France for several years, Roche and Aglaé settled in Quebec in 1963. He lived and performed there for the rest of his life. (bio by: G.Photographer)
