Lieutenant John Osgood, son of Captain John, born September 14, 1654, died April 22, 1725.
On October 17, 1681,he married Hannah Ayres, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, born August 2, 1662, daughter of Peter and Hannah (Allen) Ayres, she died September 6, 1735.
John Osgood was a man of prominence in Andover; freeman April 18, 1691; often Selectman, 1685-87-88-89-93-94-97; Lieutenant of militia; surveyor 1693; constable, 1684; deacon, 1719.
His children:
7th child - William, born February 16, 1697, died September 20, 1791.
William Osgood had more children than is noted on the Find-A-Grave list. Please refer to : Genealogical and Biographical Record of New London County, Connecticut, (1905), page 219. It says that his children were: Mary, Zachariah, Hannah, Sarah, William, Appleton, and Susan.
