Zenos Winget was born June 29, 1842, Burton Twp., Adams, Illinois. Parents: Cyrus Winget and Catherine Hulet Winget. Crossed the plains to the Salt Lake Valley with parents in 1847, age 5. Baptized into LDS Church, age 8. Moved with parents to Springville, 1850, age 8. Moved with parents to Cedar City, 1853, age 11. Father died January 14, 1854 in Cedar City when Zenos was age 11.
Moved with family to Springville in 1854, age 11. Moved with family to Manti about 1861, age 19. Married beautiful Clarinda Huetta Johnson January 5, 1866, age 23. He was a farmer and active in the church. Moved to Monroe in 1872, age 30. His beloved wife died June 22, 1883, when he was age 40. He married Eliza Roxey Squire from Manti on November 20, 1885, when he was age 43. He died June 22, 1907, age 64, in Monroe of dropsy. Buried June 24, 1907 in the Monroe City Cemetery. His second wife lived for 35 years as a widow.
His name appears on two grave markers, one by his first wife near the center of the cemetery where he was first buried and another by his second wife near the northeast part of the cemetery where he is now buried. Father of six children from first marriage: Zenos, Cyrus Alfonzo, Clarinda Huetta, Catherine Melissa, Zennia Meleta, and Benjamin Franklin. Only Cyrus Alfonzo lived to maturity and married. Father of six children from second marriage: Luther, Adelia, Emmerette, Glen, Colista and Newel.

DEATH OF PIONEER
Zenos Winget died at his home here Friday after an illness of eleven weeks. The funeral services were held at the meeting house Monday. The speakers were Wm. A. Womack, Walter Jones, Orson Magleby and James Farmer.
Mr. Winget was born in Hancock County, Illinois, in 1842 and came to Salt Lake in 1847. He was a pioneer of Sevier and Sanpete Counties in early days and settled in Monroe in 1872.
He was a member of the Indian War veterans, post of Monroe. Mr. Winget leaves a wife and seven children, the youngest of which is 8 years old.

Zenos Winget is the son of Catherine Hulet and Cyrus Winget.
He married Eliza Roxey Squire November 20, 1885 in St. George, Utah. They had five children.
