Funeral Planned Tomorrow for First Santa Fe Agent, Former City Official
RIALTO, Feb. 28 One of Rialto's pioneer residents and a prominent citizen, Charles Henry Bohannon, died this afternoon at his home on Highland avenue. He was an election registrar for this district.
A native of Smithton, Mo., Mr. Bohannon was born March 13, 1554. He would have been 80 years old. He is survived by his widow, Lula Bohannon; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Fay Weller, and two grandchildren, Rosalie May and Faye Weller.
Since his arrival in Rialto 44 years ago, Mr. Bohannon had been active in civic and religious affairs. He was a charter member of the Rialto Methodist church 40 years ago.
During his years of active civic life, Mr. Bohannon had been city clerk and city treasurer, and had served as the first Santa Fe agent at the Rialto station. He was a member of the Maccabee hive No. 129.
Funeral services in charge of the Simpson funeral home of Rialto will be held Friday at 2:30 v. m. from the Rialto Methodist church.
