He played Major League baseball for thirteen seasons (1926 to 1938) as an outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, St, Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Browns. His career totals were 1,281 Games Played, 4,418 At-Bats, 623 Runs, 1,325 Hits, 47 Home Runs, 501 Runs Batted In, and a .300 Batting Average.
