A huge thanks to Kay Griffin Snow for the obituary!
Cedar County Republican, 5 May 1938:
"Fannie Tucker was born in Dade County near Greenfield, Missouri, October 7, 1856 where she spent her entire girlhood days, professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist Church at Greenfield.
In the year of 1876 she married Henry Brown and came with him to his farm in Cedar county where she shared with him joys and sorrows until the sting of death touched her companion in 1923. To this union four children were born—three survive: Virgil of LaGrande, California, Jim Brown of Tipton, California and Ina Rannels of Jerico Springs, Missouri. In 1936 one daughter, Minnie Boston was called to the Great Beyond.
After the death of her devoted husband, Aunt Fannie made her home mostly with her daughter, Mrs. Ina Rannals, where she had been sick several weeks when the death Angel called her on April 27, 1938.
Aunt Fannie's membership still remained with the Greenfield Baptist Church, but she served her Master wherever she might be. She enjoyed attending religious services and took an active part with the local Methodist Ladies Aid as long as health permitted. A smile and a good word to everyone expressed her motto.
In addition to the direct descendants named, the deceased also is survived by three brothers, four sisters, twenty-one grandchildren and twenty great grand children.
A Christian character of almost 82 years has bade farewell to this world of pain and sorrow.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Jerico at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. B. O. Brooks for minister and O. P. Mitchel undertaker. Floral offerings were lovely and the music fitting for the time and place. The body was then taken to the Omer Cemetery, and laid beside that of her husband, in the family lot."
