Nathaniel was born in Concord, Massachusetts on September 18, 1663, the son of Nathaniel Stow and Martha Metcalf. He married Ruth Merriam on December 3, 1690. Ruth and Nathaniel spent their entire lifes in Concord and had twelve children there. Ruth died at a relatively young age in 1718, and Nathaniel then married Lydia, the widow of Timothy Wheeler, on April 21, 1720. Nathaniel died on November 12, 1724. Nathaniel and Ruth are both buried in the Hill Burying Ground in Concord.
