Died, at 6 o'clock, on the evening of the 10th, Mrs. Hannah Kitchen, at the age of 78 years. Mrs. Kitchen was the mother of Mrs. Dr. M. H. Patten, of this city. Her husband, John Kitchen, died suddenly in this city five years ago while on a visit at Dr. Patton's and since that time "Grandma" Kitchen has lived with her daughter. Three children survive her, Dr. C. A. Kitchen, of Rockford; Dr. J. L. Kitchen, of Webster county, Iowa, and Mrs. Dr. Patten, of Springfield. Hannah Ambrose, the deceased, was born in Berkley county, Virginia, removed soon after marriage to Troy, O.; thence to McLean county, Illinois, in the year 1856, and continued her residence in that vicinity until her husband's death in 1881. She was beloved by her neighbors and acquaintances; was a devoted Christian and belonged to the M. E. Church for over sixty years.
